Alt channel ids text files

Post by alanbirtles » Sun Dec 11, 2005 4:33 pm

to allow you to use the version 2 style alt channel ids text files i have put together a lua post processor script, to use it simply save it to the scripts directory, start the grabber and go to the post processor tab in the settings, select the "UK_RT_ALT_Text" processor and click on settings, enter the filename of your alchids file in the box. edit: now included in latest xmltvgui package

Hi I've been trying out your version3 grabber obtained by the download link on you website with a view to using it with Mystuff extended info for the topfield pvr, and on the forum you mentioned a text post processor for the altchidtxt This doesn't appear to be available in the gui file I downloaded. Is there a special version or am I just too keen?

I'm using this V3 script fine with just RT data but when I also try to use it jointly with the BLEB grabber (to append radio channels) I get this error. I guess due to BLEB having a channel name instead of a number.

10:12:10 - '300' --- '408'
10:12:11 - ...Files\XMLTV GUI\scripts/uk_rt/ukrt_altchids_text.lua:4: attempt to index field `Name' (a string value)
10:12:11 - Process failed on channel "bbc_radio2"
10:12:11 - Finished pass 1 of processor UK_RT_ALT_Text
Error donwloading listings: Access violation at address 0046DF29 in module 'XmltvGUI.exe'. Read of address 00000004

Am I missing something or does the AltCHIDs support only work if you choose RT grabber only (could you amend script to ignore these channels?)

thanks for a great tool
Simon

fixed noe in the new version (it should have only been acting on the rt channels but there was a bug)

Hello,
I am trying to use the UK_RT_ALT_Text processor script, however XMLTV GUI (V3) gives the following error:

17:45:39 - Starting pass 1 of processor UK_RT_ALT_Text
17:45:39 - ...Files\XMLTV GUI\scripts/uk_rt/ukrt_altchids_text.lua:14: bad argument #1 to `lines' (No such file or directory)
17:45:39 - Finished pass 1 of processor UK_RT_ALT_Text

I initially created a new altchids.txt file (and saved it in the XMLTV GUI directory) but I get the same error when I use an old altchids.txt file that I have used successfully with V2 of XMLTV Radio Times. Does anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Cheers,
Martin.

you need to go into settings and select the processor, then click settings and enter the FULL path of the text file
